Delete your entire account

You can permanently delete your Talk2Diary account directly from within the app:

  1. Open Talk2Diary and unlock with your PIN or biometrics
  2. Tap the Settings tab (bottom navigation)
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete Account
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted

What gets deleted immediately and permanently:

  • All journal entries (text, audio recordings, photos)
  • All mood data and insights
  • Your encryption keys and account credentials
  • Your phone number, email, or device identifier
  • Subscription records
  • Transcription processing logs

Nothing is kept. Account deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Delete individual journal entries (without deleting your account)

You can delete any individual entry at any time without closing your account:

  1. Open Talk2Diary and go to the Journal tab
  2. Tap the entry you want to delete
  3. Tap the delete option in the entry detail screen
  4. Confirm the deletion

Deleting an entry permanently and immediately removes its audio recording, photos, transcript, and mood data from our servers. This cannot be undone.

Can't access the app?

If you cannot access your account to delete it yourself (for example, if you have lost your PIN and recovery code), email us and we will delete your account and all associated data on your behalf:

Include the phone number, email address, or Google/Apple account you used to sign up. We will process your request within 7 days.

Data retention after deletion

All personal data is deleted immediately when you delete your account or an individual entry. We do not retain any backups of your journal content. There is no waiting period — deletion is instant and permanent.

If you have enabled Google Drive or iCloud backup, your encrypted backup will remain in your own Google Drive or iCloud account until you remove it manually. We do not have access to delete it on your behalf.
